Third project meeting in Madrid

The recent project meeting held in Madrid brought together the project partners to discuss the progress and future plans for their respective Weekend Schools and the project results. The meeting provided an opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaborative brainstorming. In this blog post, we will delve into the highlights of the meeting and the exciting developments in each region’s Weekend School initiatives.


The meeting commenced with a visit to Vallecas Magerit, a secondary and professional school where Fam Y Lias is set to launch their Weekend School. Partners had the chance to explore the school and engage in insightful discussions with the directors and teachers about their ongoing work. Later in the afternoon, the partners also visited La Kalle (Asociación Cultural La Kalle), where they received a captivating presentation on the organizations various social projects. Additionally, the partners utilized the meeting as an avenue to explore ideas and proposals to further enhance their Weekend School initiatives.




During the meeting, each partner region shared the recent advancements in their Weekend School programs, demonstrating significant progress and enthusiasm:

In Catalca, successful workshops were initiated, featuring collaborations with local experts such as firefighters, drummers, and marble makers. Looking ahead, they plan to organize more workshops and physically visit experts workplaces to gain deeper insights. In Murcia, the team has been actively meeting youngsters twice a week. They participated in a thrilling bike self-repair workshop and planned an exciting activity where participants can ride a bike that produces lemonade.


Sneek’s Weekend School conducted numerous guest lessons, including sessions with firefighters, visits to the science museum, and interactions with police officers. The team is currently preparing for a summer school program that integrates language and mathematics with enjoyable games and activities. Bornovo is gearing up to launch their Weekend School in September. They have conducted several workshops with teachers from different schools and are well-prepared with engaging lesson plans and language games.

The Fam Y Lias team in madrid is diligently planning their Weekend School, starting with a pilot program at Vallecas Magerit. Volunteer teachers will contribute their time to the program, which will be held once a month following regular classes.


The project meeting in Madrid showcased the exciting activities and progress made by each partner region in their Weekend School initiatives. From engaging workshops with local experts to community collaborations and pilot programs, these regions are dedicated to providing unique learning experiences for their students. We are excited to see what the future will hold for the Here We Create the Future project!
