This blogpost will take you along on the experiences and activities the students of the Weekend School Friesland have undertaken lately. This isn’t your normal or ordinary school, it’s a place for fun and learning new things together. The students have had some adventures lately, that we would love to share with you!
Resilience training
The students plunged into resilience training under the adept guidance of Jorrit. Pool noodles are creatively repurposed into tools of defense. The children learn the nuances of individual protection and collective defense. After the break, which was filled with questions for Jorrit, getting to know his music taste and why he teaches resilience training, the students used some square punching bags. They learned all about keeping a safe distance and how to position themselves.
Technolab
At the technolab, the student got the opportunity to create amazing things of ordinary things like wooden planks, cans and even toilet rolls! From shaping and gluing the planks to making all kinds of art, letting their imagination run wild.
Technolab Bouwbase
The Weekend School Panda’s were builders for an afternoon. From laying a street, insulating a house and setting up plumbing and electrics to laying the roof tiles and designing the houses. After this day’s experience, all they need to do is don their helmets, pull on their vests and they’re ready to step onto a real construction site. (2) Watch | Facebook
The Weekend School isn’t just about learning, it’s about growing, creating, exploring and having tons of fun while at it. Every meeting brings new experiences and we are excited to see what the next adventures will be!
