Project partners from Catalça, Turkey, hosted the first partner meeting of the ‘’Here We Create the Future’’ Erasmus+ project. The Catalça District Directorate of National Education developed an interesting program and arranged a good stay at the Teacher Hotel.
During the three day meeting, partners of the project talked about the work, made plans and learned about each other and where they are from. Also, the District Director and the Governor attended. They shared their thoughts about schools in their area and what they hope this project will achieve.
On the first day, everyone talked about the purpose of the meeting, what the project was all about, and what they wanted to achieve. With some people being new to the group, a friendly round of introductions was done to help everyone get to know each other.
The second day focused on looking at the project results and deciding how to start working on them. Plans were also made for a teacher training event and another partner meeting in Sneek, the Netherlands. After this, the partners participated in a workshop about the Eramus+ Impact Tool. This activity encouraged everyone to think about what they hope their Weekend Schools will be like in 2027. They also talked about how these changes might affect their teachers, students and schools.
The day ended with a visit to the Story Nature Science School, which could be a future Weekend School. Students there led and followed workshops, giving everyone a chance to see how this kind of school could work.
On the last day, everyone went on a tour of Istanbul. It was a fun day and a nice way to end the meeting. When it was time to say goodbye, everyone was excited about the future of the project.
To sum it up, the first meeting for ‘’Here We Create the Future’’ in Turkey went very well. Everyone went home knowing the next steps and feeling excited about creating Weekend Schools in all the countries. Looking forward to the next meeting in the Netherlands!
